January 20, 2019: The Good Wine

Posted by West End Presbyterian Church on

TEXT FOR SUNDAY, January 20, 2019:

John 2:1-11

PReparation for worship

“The best of earth will be below the simplest fare of heaven. But what will heaven’s best be! If wine in the peasant’s house is so luscious, what will be the new wine in the Father’s kingdom!... What will it be to sit at the marriage supper of the Lamb, not as guests, but as the Bride!... But for ever and ever, as fresh revelations break on our glad souls, we shall look up to the Master of the feast and cry, ‘You have kept the best until now’.” –F.B. Meyer

Pastor's Note

Dear Ones,

Jesus’ first miracle was at a wedding, and involved wine, his mother, and his disciples. All of this was a precursor to his death, his resurrection, and ultimately his glory.

This miracle served to “manifest his glory.”

And we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
