come and S.O.W. with us!

We are excited to study the book of Ruth this year! We invite you to join us for a unique season of fellowship and study.  Our ministry opportunity this year will be called S.O.W. (Sisters of WEPC) Together, which we hope will provide a simple and meaningful ministry opportunity.

How will this new format look
We will meet on Wednesday evenings from 6:00-7:00 PM for a large group gathering in the WEPC Fellowship Hall. During that time, there will be a panel discussion about the scripture passage for the week, a short testimony from one of our participants, and a brief time for personal reflection. While it will not be live-streamed, you will be able to listen to an audio recording of the conversation, available a day after the live event.

Will there be small groups?
After you have participated in the large group (in person or virtually), we are inviting all women to gather with a partner, in a triad, or with a small group to discuss a few of the questions from that week’s study. We are encouraging women to form these groups on their own, letting each group navigate when and how it is best to meet. If you need help to find a group, please let us know when you register.

What are the specifics?

  • Cost: $15
  • At this time, we cannot safely offer childcare.
  • Masks and social distancing will be required when meeting at WEPC.

Are there ways I can learn about this new ministry?
There will be training in September to help orient and prepare group members to study Ruth and be part of S.O.W Together.  We will consider how to facilitate a simple reflection time on Zoom or how to have a meaningful conversation with a few women. It is open to all women and will provide tools to engage with other women in authentic conversation.

Our prayer for our study together, from Psalm 126:5-6:
5Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy! 6 He who goes out weeping, bearing the seed for sowing, Shall come home with shouts of joy, bringing his sheaves with him.

The Chorus from the Song “Psalm 126”:
Although we are weeping
Lord, help us keep sowing
The seeds of Your Kingdom
For the day You will reap them
Your sheaves we will carry
Lord, please do not tarry
All those who sow weeping
will go out with songs of joy
