"To be loved but not known is comforting but superficial. To be known and not loved is our greatest fear. But to be fully known and truly loved is, well, a lot like being loved by God. It is what we need more than anything."  -Tim Keller

COVID-19 Policy for WEPC Home Groups

As we have done for the past 18 months, we will continue to monitor the status of COVID-19 in the broader community and guidance from the CDC and VHD, and may adjust our plans in the event conditions either improve or deteriorate.

We believe it is imperative for the people of God to gather together in person as safely as possible. To that end, each group leader will work with his own conscience and the members of the group to determine the group's own policy on masking and social-distancing. Some group leaders may decide to meet on a porch or outdoor setting in the fall, while others will remain indoors. Some groups may decide to require masks, while others will not. Some groups may require that members be vaccinated, while others won't. Some groups may decide to meet in a larger room at WEPC to accommodate social-distancing or meet virtually until such a time rises that they can meet in person. We believe that whatever decision is made by the groups is done faithfully and lovingly.

Thank you for your continued commitment to keeping our church community safe, healthy, together, loving, and faithful.

purpose of home groups

The purpose of home groups is for people to be fully known and truly loved in a smaller community of believers. Here is how we are doing this at WEPC:

  1. To be reminded together that we are known and loved by our God.  This is accomplished through prayer and Bible study.
  2. To be the tangible expression to one another that we are known and loved by our God.  This is accomplished through the nurture of a safe and welcoming community to share, ask questions, and listen.
  3. To be encouraged to be the tangible expression to our neighbors that we are known and loved by our God.  This is accomplished through together praying for missional vision and conversation in our day-to-day lives.
