Advent is a four-week-long season beginning, SUN, December 23, leading up to Christmas that helps us to remember Christ’s first coming and reflect on the mystery of the Incarnation. It also teaches us to look eagerly for His second coming when He will return to redeem His creation and exercise His rule with all power and authority.

West End Presbyterian Church is using the Scripture readings recommended by the Revised Common Lectionary as a framework for our corporate worship and personal and family devotion, from December 2018 through November 2019. The Lectionary gives us access to the whole counsel of Scripture and these texts are a means for us to grow in our understanding of our union with Christ.

Family Advent Project

The Family Advent Project (PDF) is a great way to include younger worshippers in the season of Advent and will be available beginning November 25 in the Gallery.

Christmas Eve at WEPC

Join us at 4 PM for a family-friendly service celebrating our Savior’s Advent through Scripture and song. We will follow with a communion service at 7 PM with a jazz quintet led by Taylor Barnett.

Deacons’ Ministry Fund Offering

At both Christmas Eve services, we will take an offering for the Deacons' Mercy Ministry Fund, which provides financial assistance for the needy in our church and community and for ministries approved by the WEPC Diaconate. Children are encouraged to bring an offering of non-perishable food for the In Jesus' Name Food Pantry at the 4 PM service.
