Advent is a four-week-long season beginning, SUN, December 3, leading up to Christmas that helps us to remember Christ’s first coming and reflect on the mystery of the Incarnation. It also teaches us to look eagerly for His second coming when He will return to redeem His creation and exercise His rule with all power and authority.
This year’s Advent blog will feature Scripture readings by WEPC kids, as well as a devotional for your family to do together. Sign up to receive each post in your email or check in every day until Christmas.
Family Advent Project
The Family Advent Project (PDF) is a great way to include younger worshippers in the season of Advent.
Christmas Eve at WEPC
Join us for Sunday morning worship at 10:30 AM (no nursery or Sunday School) and then return at 4 PM for a family-friendly service celebrating our Savior’s Advent through Scripture and song. We will follow with a communion service at 7 PM with a jazz quintet led by Taylor Barnett.
(There will be no 9 AM service or Sunday School on SUN, December 24, and no childcare will be provided at 10:30 AM. As always, children are welcomed and encouraged to worship with their families.)
Deacons’ Ministry Fund Offering
At both Christmas Eve services, we will take an offering for the Deacons' Mercy Ministry Fund, which provides financial assistance for the needy in our church and community and for ministries approved by the WEPC Diaconate. Children are encouraged to bring an offering of non-perishable food for the In Jesus' Name Food Pantry at the 4 PM service.
Christmas Eve Morning Choir
You and your family are invited to join the Christmas Eve Morning Choir to lead the church in worship at the 10:30 AM service on SUN, December 24. No formal choir or singing experience necessary. Rehearsals will be held for 30-45 minutes after the second service on the first three Sundays in December as well as the morning of SAT 12/23. Interested? Contact Tiffanie Chan.
