What are your primary responsibilities at WEPC?
I assist music teams as they prepare songs for Sunday worship, giving guidance to the instrumentalists and vocalists, as well as to the team leaders. I co-lead a team with my wife, Tiffanie Chan, that leads congregational singing once every 5 weeks, and I play trumpet on the team led by Pastor Kevin Greene. I also plan and arrange music for special services, such as Easter and Christmas Eve.
Why are you excited to be part of WEPC?
I am excited to be a part of WEPC because it is where God has called me to be. I came to faith at WEPC in my early twenties, and I have seen how sincerely the staff are dedicated to following Jesus. It is an honor to be a part of what the Lord is doing here.
What is your favorite movie? Why?
My favorite movie is “The World According to John Coltrane”, a documentary about the late, great saxophonist. I’ve watched it more times than I can remember, and his unparalleled dedication to his musical development, which he viewed as an offering to God, is a huge inspiration to me.
What brings you joy? Why?
Making art, and sharing it with people that I care about brings me great joy. This can take the form of composing and performing original music, or drawing pictures of my friends and family.
Tell us about your family and what you like to do for fun.
I have a wonderful wife and two delightful daughters. We love spending time together in the kitchen, making yummy comfort foods and watching Masterchef Junior.
